Welcome to NCITY!

General Info

엔시티

NCT (Neo Culture Technology) is an infinitely expanding group that will have unlimited members.

Any member of NCT can be added or taken out of any subunit, except for those that are permanent. (ex. nct 127)

Each NCT unit will have a set concept or
promote in a certain country. (ex. NCT 127 based in Seoul, upcoming NCT China)

NCT's overall aim is to continue to expand all over
world among different genres as well.

NCT as a whole as well as many of its units have no set leader due to the continuous rotation of members.

Because of NCT 127’s permanence, the unit's leader is Taeyong.

NCT’s fandom name is ‘NCTzen,’ (pronounced ‘N-citizen,’ nickname ‘Seasonie’) meaning NCT fans are citizens of NCITY. The unofficial fandom color is lime green, as seen by the bright green unofficial lightsticks used at music shows and other events.

Subunits

SM Rookies

All members were apart of SM's trainee team SM Rookies except Chenle and Renjun of NCT Dream.

SR14/15B (SM Rookie 2014/15 Boys) is what all the formally known rookies were called as the years progressed and members were formally added.

Kun and Winwin were added closer to debut of the first official NCT unit and weren't formally part of SR15B, but part of SR16B. Eventually, the entire predebut team of the boy SM Rookies were known as 'SR16B' once it became 2016. No more trainees were formally announced in 2016.

Lucas and Jungwoo were announced as SR17B in April 2017. They were both rumored SM trainees for some time, but weren't officially introduced with SR15/16B, even if they may have been with SM since then or longer.

Ji Hansol, a former SM Rookie who officially departed from SM in October 2017, had trained with NCT since 2013. He featured in NCT 127's music video Switch, along with the rest of the SR15B team. He was a contestant on KBS' survival show, The Unit (and is currently in the finalist boy group, UNB), and is set to debut in JFLO Entertainment's new boy group, NewKidd, in 2018.

NCT U

NCT U is the first NCT unit that consists of Taeil, Taeyong, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, and Mark. The originally six member unit had their debut stage at KBS Music Bank on April 15th, 2016. The 'U' in NCT U stands for 'united' or 'unit.'

This is not a fixed unit, so the members involved will change depending on each comeback the unit has, resulting in the addition of new members or different combinations of current members.

NCT U debuted on April 9, 2016 and April 10, 2016 with digital singles
The 7th Sense (Taeyong, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Mark) and
Without You (Korean Version - Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun; Chinese Version - Taeil, Kun, Doyoung, Jaehyun).

NCT U later came back as a part of NCT’s large scale project, NCT 2018, with the songs Boss on February 19, 2018 (Taeyong, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark), Baby Don’t Stop on February 26, 2018 (Taeyong & Ten), and Yestoday on April 2, 2018 (Taeyong, Doyoung, Lucas, Mark). This was the first lineup change the unit experienced.

Early 2017, Ten underwent knee surgery and his military lottery drawing in Thailand was postponed until 2018. In 2018, he failed the health examination due to his past knee injury and is forever exempt from military service.

Despite him taking part in NCT U's Without You (Chinese Ver.) while he was still a trainee and graduating from SM Rookies on January 30, 2018 with Jungwoo and Lucas, Kun has yet to officially debut with a song in the NCT 2018 project. His "official debut" was his appearance on Weekly Idol in 2018.

They are a Seoul-based team that now consists of nine members, originally being seven; Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark and Haechan. Johnny and Doyoung, officially debuted as NCT 127 on January 5th, 2017 with 'Limitless'.

NCT 127 debuted with the title track 'Firetruck' and held their debut stage on July 7th, 2016 at Mnet M! Countdown. They revealed their debut mini-album ‘NCT #127’ on July 10th, 2016.

There will be no future change in the lineup for NCT 127. NCT 127 is also the only subunit with a leader (Taeyong).

NCT Dream is a teenage-boy team that consists of seven members; Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung. NCT Dream held their debut stage on August 25th, 2016 at Mnet M! Countdown, and revealed their debut single ‘Chewing Gum’ on August 27th, 2016. At their debut, NCT Dream had an average age of 15.6.

Following ‘Chewing Gum’ promotions, Jaemin ceased activities due to a herniated disc that had worsened since his days as a trainee. He was not able to participate during the ‘My First and Last’ as well as the 'We Young’ promotions due to him focusing on his healing. He returned from his hiatus for NCT 2018 and NCT Dream's 'GO' promotions.
